Complications Arising From Nail Fungi

Nail fungi are never harmless. At the very least, nail fungi causes nail discoloration, and slowly but surely destroys the nail after a period of time. Aside from permanently damaging your nails, nail fungi can lead to complications, especially if you are inflicted with diseases such as diabetes, or leukemia. People who are undergoing heavy medication are also in danger of developing complications because of nail fungi infection. Even people who have undergone organ transplant are not immune from the harmful effects of nail fungi. The main culprit which makes it possible for nail fungi to affect the body so severely is the decreased blood flow. Decreased blood flow enhances the effect of any minor infection, such as nail fungi, leading to complications which can only be resolved by intensive medication.
