Antioxidants (free radical scavengers) have a strong tendency to neutralize free radicals by binding to their free electrons. Therefore, ample supplementation of a diet with antioxidants especially in western civilization and more especially in that portion of our culture that survives daily on a poor diet, which is loaded with free radical producing substances, is extremely important. Unfortunately, those individuals are the very individuals who need a substantial intake of antioxidants the most. And it is these same individuals who are taking supplements of antioxidants the very least.

ANTIOXIDANTS

There are four enzymes that have a strong tendency to neutralize free radicals including super oxide dismutase (SOD), methionine reductase, catalase, and lutathione peroxidase. These four enzymes are also essential enzymes, which the body makes on its own. However, the body often is unable to, for various reasons make sufficient quantities to control effectively the ravages all of free radical damage. There are a number of other nutritional substances, which also act as antioxidants. The substances include vitamin A, beta-carotene, vitamin C, and vitamin E as well as the mineral selenium

There are a three potential source is of antioxidants, those produced by the body, those derived from certain food substances, and those taken as nutritional supplements. As indicated, often times the body is unable to produce sufficient quantities of antioxidants on its own. Equally unfortunate is the case that sufficient quantities of antioxidants are seldom able to be derived from food intake. Consequently, it becomes very important for many individuals to supplement their diet with compounds containing abundant levels of antioxidants. Synergistically, the body, food intake, the intake of supplements, work together to ward off the deleterious affects all of free radicals.

GRAPE SEED EXTRACT
Grape Seed Extract has been exhaustively studied by some of the most prestigious medical facilities and universities around the world. The results are no less than astounding. In the research of Dr. Jacques Masquelier, Dr. Richard Passwater, Dr. Morton Walker, the Pasteur & Huntington Institutes and 7 other leading Universities in Europe, Grape Seed Extract (also known as OPC’s) has been proven to be an exceptional leader in the fight against free radical (cell-damaging) activity in human physiology.

Until the discovery of Grape Seed Extract, the best sources of antioxidants were found in vitamins C, E and Beta Carotene. The shortcoming of these sources is that they are not powerful enough to combat free radicals and are used or excreted within a short time of entering the body. According to studies, Grape Seed Extract remains in the body for 3 full days and is 20 times stronger than vitamin C and 50 times stronger than Vitamin E. It can be safely said that Grape Seed Extract is one of the most powerful antioxidants known to man!

Another important advantage of Grape Seed Extract is that it is one of the few antioxidants that can penetrate the blood-brain barrier to help protect the brain and nerve tissue from oxidation. That’s why it can improve your mental alertness and help prevent senility.

Grape Seed Extract is one amazing product! It is one of the most important immune system nutrients to come along in the past 50 years. A healthy immune system is the vital key to reversing the aging process and for providing a long and healthy life.
